Nothing about the frame is simplified for the smaller scale, which is unusual and is why it holds its own in front of a sofa. Seen from a low seat the crossed legs and the stretcher are close to eye level, so the frame is more visible here than on the dining tables. At 45cm it sits level with most sofa seats. The deep smoked colour reads warmer under lamplight than it does in daylight, which is when the table gets most use.
